Air Products adds sustainability to IR function

Simon Moore to take responsibility for sustainability, while retaining his IR and corporate relations roles

Air Products has announced that its vice president of investor relations and corporate relations, Simon Moore, will also take on responsibility for the company’s sustainability strategy and goals.

Moore has worked at Air Products since 1990 and entered the IR function in 2010. He added corporate relations in 2016.

In a company statement, Air Products highlights the importance of having a cohesive message on sustainability for investors and other stakeholders.

Seifi Ghasemi, chairman, president and CEO of Air Products, says in the statement: ‘The investment community is increasingly interested in the steps our company is taking to build a more sustainable future. Having Simon lead this effort will further raise the profile of our activities and give greater insight to our many stakeholders who consider ESG criteria when assessing public companies.’

In October 2019, Air Products was included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for the 10th consecutive year, and this month the company was included in S&P Global’s Sustainability Yearbook.

In a recent article in the Winter issue of IR Magazine, experienced search consultants describe how Mifid II and ESG are two mega-trends that pose career opportunities for IROs to demonstrate added value to their management teams.
