Bill.com appoints first head of IR

Karen Sansot joined company on November 2

Bill.com has appointed its first in-house investor relations lead, as the company's share price has increased significantly since April.

Karen Sansot joined as vice president and head of investor relations on November 2. She is the first internal IR representative, she tells IR Magazine, and reports to John Rettig, Bill.com’s chief financial officer.

Sansot most recently served as senior director of investor relations at Zendesk, between January 2018 and October 2020. Due to the timing of her move, she participated in two earnings calls in two weeks: Zendesk’s on October 29 and Bill.com’s on November 5.

She has previously held investor relations roles at Leapfrog and Electronic Arts. She started her career in investment banking, and has held analyst or vice president positions at Bankers Trust, Montgomery Securities and Banc of America Securities, as well as Hadley Partners.

On November 25, Bill.com announced the pricing of a $1 bn convertible offering, in the form of convertible senior notes. The deal closed on November 30, according to a company release, netting gross proceeds of $1.15 bn.
