North America IR lead and company veteran steps up to succeed retiring IRO

Jessica Mitchell, BP’s head of IR of six years, is set to retire at the end of October, with Craig Marshall stepping up to succeed her.

Mitchell has been with the IR team since 2002. Prior to this, she spent 20 years within the oil and gas major’s downstream business in roles including planning, operations, trading and marketing. She is an MBA alumnus of the University of Cape Town.

Currently head of BP’s North America IR team, Marshall joined the firm more than 20 years ago and has served, among other roles, as head of finance based in Egypt and vice president of finance for BP’s global wells organization.

From 2008 to 2011, he worked as an IR manager based in BP’s London headquarters.

Marshall’s team was distinguished at this year’s IR Magazine Awards ceremony in New York where BP won the accolade for best IR by a non-US or Canadian company in the US market. One buy-side respondent to IR Magazine’s survey commented that ‘BP provides us with a really good annual outlook.’
