US arm of RBS hires banking veteran and IR Magazine award winner amid partial IPO plans
Ellen Taylor is set to take on IR at Providence, Rhode-Island headquartered RBS Citizens. The Duke MBA alumnus will be joining the commercial bank as executive vice president and head of investor relations and will report to CFO John Fawcett.
Taylor has more than 25 years of financial experience, with earlier roles in capital markets, leasing and commercial banking. Her more recent IR career has been in the banking and investment management sectors: she was managing director of investor relations for BlackRock from 2011 to 2013; and, before that, she was IR director for Wachovia - now part of Wells Fargo - where her team, led by head of IR Alice Lehman, won an IR Magazine award in the mega cap category in 2008.
Her performance was recognised again in 2010 when insurance firm AmTrust, for which she was working as an IR consultant, won an award for most progress in IR.
Most recently, Taylor was a principal at the McIver Taylor Group, a consultancy providing investor relations and funding services to clients in financial services.
‘I’m excited to be joining RBS Citizens Financial Group and look forward to partnering with the team to share the firm’s value proposition with the investment community,’ Taylor told IR Magazine.
The firm, a subsidiary of the Royal Bank of Scotland since 1988, is on track for a partial IPO later this year, according to a company press release, with ‘follow-on offerings’ also announced. The spin-off plans come after the Scottish bank, which is still more than 80 per cent owned by taxpayers, was pressured by the UK government to offload its US branch in order to repay part of its colossal bailout.
