Award-winning IRO Matt Cribbins to leave NYSE-listed firm after 23 years of service

Todd Ernst has been appointed as GE’s new vice president of investor relations, succeeding company veteran and IRO of four years Matt Cribbins.

A history graduate of DePauw University and MBA alumnus of the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business, Ernst started his career as an equity analyst at Prudential Securities, later moving to the buy side to cover the aerospace, defense, transportation and logistics sector at Balyasny Asset Management and Neuberger Berman.

In 2009 he joined defense contractor Raytheon, where he served as vice president of IR for seven years, and most recently as vice president of corporate development.

‘Todd brings a wealth of experience with sell-side and buy-side equity analysts, deep knowledge of capital markets, and a strong network of relationships across the financial community,’ says Jamie Miller, CFO of GE. ‘His financial and strategic analysis skills will be a great asset as we continue progress on our plan to strengthen and simplify GE with our broad, diverse population of shareowners.’

Cribbins, who is leaving the firm ‘as part of a planned transition process’, according to a press release, has been with GE since 1995, serving in senior roles including CFO for GE Capital Asia, GE Commercial Finance Asia and GE Energy Financial Services.

During his IR tenure, GE won multiple IR Magazine Awards including best use of technology and social media for IR, best in sector for the industrials industry, most progress in IR and best overall investor relations (large cap) in 2016.

A permanent fixture at the IR Magazine Awards – US, the Boston-headquartered blue chip has taken home an impressive total of 34 awards out of 47 nominations since 1999.
