Defense group hires former Jefferies analyst

NYSE-listed General Dynamics has hired Howard Rubel, a former equity analyst, to lead its IR team.

Rubel, who has also been elected a vice president of the company, according to a press release, reports to CEO and chairman Phebe Novakovic.

After graduating from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management in 1981, Rubel joined CJ Lawrence as an equity analyst, subsequently moving to similar roles at Goldman Sachs and Schwab SoundView. Most recently, he served as managing director at Jefferies.

‘Howard brings a wealth of experience from the investment community and has a deep understanding of the aerospace and defense industry,’ comments Novakovic in the release. ‘He’s a valuable addition to our leadership team.’

The West Falls Church, Virginia-headquartered defense and aerospace firm, which employs close to 100,000 staff, posted $31.4 bn in revenue for 2016.
