Social media allow for a broader proliferation of communications strategy, says Ruth Cotter, AMD’s director of IR. They provide exposure for activities that would not otherwise be covered, as well as the opportunity for companies to highlight and correct misrepresented items, she explains. Specially tailored webcasts also allow IR departments to reach as many buy-siders and sell-siders as possible, adds Cotter.
