CN, Rogers Communications, Potash Corp and TD Bank up for the large-cap grand prix
TD Bank has received a record-breaking haul of eight nominations for the IR Magazine Awards – Canada 2013. The financial services group is certainly no stranger to accolades, claiming six awards at the 2012 awards in February earlier this year.
The IR Magazine Awards – Canada 2013 are the result of intensive research to identify the best IR in the country, as well as provide a window into the thinking of IR’s most important audience: the investment community. This year’s research sought the views of 250 portfolio managers and analysts.
For 2013, TD Bank’s nominations include the grand prix for best overall IR, best IRO, best IR by a CEO and best IR by a CFO (all in the large-cap category).
The bank faces stiff competition for the grand prix from CN (six nominations), Rogers Communications and Potash Corp (four nominations each).
Competition will also be fierce in the mid-cap categories. Alamos Gold, reigning champion ARC Resources, Baytex Energy and Bombardier are all jostling for the mid-cap grand prix for best overall IR.
In the small-cap section of the awards, Genivar, Newalta, Torex Gold Resources and WesternOne Equity provide the competition for the grand prix.
The company with the highest score in a particular award category is declared the winner. Furthermore, the 50 companies with the highest combined scores are named in the IR Magazine Canada Top 50 ranking.
The rankings will be revealed in the IR Magazine Investor Perception Study – Canada 2013, which will be published soon after the awards event. The IR Magazine Awards – Canada 2013 will take place at the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto on the evening of February 6, 2013.
