Espoo, Finland-headquartered stainless steel producer hires IR specialist for natural resources
Finnish stainless steel major Outokumpu has appointed Tamara Weinert as vice president of investor relations. She will report to the company’s executive vice president of marketing, communications and investor relations, Kari Tuutti.
Weinert was head of finance and investor relations since March 2012 at German stainless steel producer Inoxum, previously ThyssenKrupp’s stainless steel unit, which was acquired by Outokumpu last year.
She started her career in 1984 at Deutsche Bank where she spent 16 years, working in various locations such as India, Pakistan, Singapore and Russia. In 2000, she joined energy company Mirant as credit and contract manager, moving on in 2002 to serve as director of credit risk management at Dutch energy firm Nuon.
In 2009, Swedish state-owned competitor Vattenfall took over Nuon, promoting Weinert to head corporate and structured finance.
Weinert holds an MBA in finance from Manchester Business School as well as an MSc in protected landscape management from the University of Greenwich.
Outokumpu has been listed on the Helsinki Stock Exchange – now operated by NASDAQ OMX – since 1988. The group, which employs 7,000 people in more than 30 countries, is owned 21 percent by the Finnish state.
