This year the IR Magazine Awards – Greater China and South East Asia will feature a new type of award: self-nomination, judged awards.
This means each event will now have two types of award. For the classic researched categories, the winners will be determined by a comprehensive, independent, three-month-long research process that identifies the best corporate IR teams across a range of categories through votes from the investment community.
The new self-nominated categories – already popular across the IR Magazine Awards in Europe, Canada and the US – offer companies the opportunity to nominate themselves for certain achievements in IR.
Recent judged award winners at the IR Magazine Awards – Europe 2017, include TAV Airports Holding for best crisis management (for its handling of a terrorist attack at its flagship airport shortly followed by 2016’s coup attempt in Turkey), AstraZeneca for best investor event (for a DNA-focused event held at the pub in Cambridge, UK, where the discovery of human DNA was first announced) and Duncan Browne of Saga, who took home this year’s rising star award.
For the IR Magazine Awards – Greater China 2017, the self-nomination categories are:
• Best annual report
• Best crisis management
• Best ESG communications
• Best investor event
• Best IR for a corporate transaction
• Best IR website
• Best use of multimedia for IR
• Rising star
• Best woman in IR
• Best investor relations for an IPO
• Best ADR program
