Scott Anderson takes over from Gary Abbott
O2Micro, the power management company, has appointed Scott Anderson as its new director of investor relations. He takes over from Gary Abbott, who has held the position for more than four years.
With more than 12 years of IR and communications experience, Anderson’s prior work includes over a year at Watson Pharmaceuticals, and a long spell at Qualcomm, a leading mobile technologies company. He graduated from the University of Southern California in 1996 with a BA in communication arts and sciences.
Since Anderson’s appointment, O2Micro has revised its guidance for Q2, lowering its expected revenue. This revision is in response to broad-based weakness in demand in O2Micro’s end-markets, as indicated by chairman and CEO Sterling Du in a press release.
Anderson will have the task of maintaining shareholder confidence during the challenging macroeconomic environment, but with the company launching various new products in 2012, the expectation is for growth in the second half of the year.
