Morgan Stanley and Grosvenor alumnus to manage IR for Europe, Asia and North America at global real estate investment firm
Dietrich Heidtmann has been hired by asset management firm AXA Real Estate to be its global head of investor relations and capital markets.
He will be working out of the company’s headquarters in Paris, reporting to Deborah Shire, global head of business development, and also joining AXA Real Estate’s executive committee.
He is set to replace Antoine Jozan, head of IR and marketing, who has been with AXA Real Estate for 12 years and will be moving on at the end of the year to a part-time role focused on IR for Canada and the Middle East.
Heidtmann has nearly 20 years of experience in real estate investments. He graduated with a master’s degree in economics and business administration from Mannheim University in Germany, starting his career at Deutsche Bank within the equity derivatives and structured products department.
He joined Morgan Stanley in 1993 to work initially in equity sales, staying on for the next 18 years and making his way up to be managing director of real estate private capital markets for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Earlier this year, he was hired by Grosvenor, a privately owned property group, to serve as managing director for capital markets, based in Paris. His role oversaw capital raising and investor relations across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
AXA Real Estate currently manages more than €42 bn ($53 bn) in assets. The company employs 500 people across 22 countries and has recently expanded its presence in the US and Asia by opening offices in Tokyo and Singapore in 2006 and in New York in 2010.
