BD names top analyst to newly created IR role

Former healthcare analyst Kristen Stewart joins the global medical technology company at the end of August

BD (Becton Dickinson and Company), one of the world’s largest medical technology firms, has named Kristen Stewart as its senior vice president of strategy and investor relations – a new role for the company.

Stewart, who brings two decades of experience to the role, most recently led the medical technology research franchise at Barclays Capital. She has been recognized by Institutional Investor as one of the top three analysts in the Medical Supplies & Devices category several times during her career, according to a statement announcing her appointment.

‘I have watched through the analyst lens as BD has transformed into a global medical technology innovator,’ says Stewart in the company release. ‘I am excited by BD's current strategic direction and believe the company has significant potential to optimize shareholder value. I am thrilled to undertake this important new role.’

In the newly created role she works closely with the BD executive team to drive shareholder value as well as communicating the New Jersey-based company's long-term growth strategy.

Welcoming her to the company, Christopher Reidy, executive vice president, CFO and chief administrative officer, says Stewart will bring together strategy and IR at the firm: ‘Kristen’s wealth of experience and long-standing relationships throughout the investment community will bring meaningful value to BD. I am excited about the alignment of both strategy and IR under Kristen's leadership.’
