Charah Solutions names capital markets veteran as head of IR

Service provider to the power generation industry appoints Tony Semak to role

Louisville, Kentucky-headquartered Charah Solutions has named Tony Semak, a capital markets veteran with 25 years’ experience, to lead its investor relations program as head of IR. 

Reporting to Nick Jacoby, interim CFO at the firm, which provides environmental and maintenance services to the power generation industry, Semak will ‘work closely with senior management in guiding all aspects of corporate messaging, while facilitating the correspondence and rapport with the investor and analyst communities to ensure active communication, strong market sponsorship and fair representation of the company,’ according to a statement announcing his appointment. 

Semak, who holds an MBA from the University of Louisville, is also a chartered financial accountant. He joins Charah from Invesco, where he held numerous roles since joining the company in 2000, including as a senior credit research analyst, senior portfolio manager and as head of investor relations at Invesco Mortgage Capital.

Charah Solutions is used by utilities to assist in the management and recycling of ash byproducts generated from burning coal in the production of electricity as well as in routine power plant maintenance and outage services for the fossil fuel and nuclear power generation industry.
