Christopher Viehbacher, CEO of Sanofi, on going from ‘transformation’ to ‘growth’

Video interview from the IR Magazine Awards – Europe 2013

As Sanofi went through an ‘enormous transformation’, Christopher Viehbacher, CEO at the global pharmaceutical firm, says it was ‘extremely important’ to tell investors where the company was going. And the winner of the best investor relations by a CEO award in the large-cap category says the best compliment he gets from investors is: ‘You actually did what you said you were going to do.’

But investor relations at Paris-headquartered Sanofi, which also won the best in country gong for France at the IR Magazine Awards – Europe 2013, is not just about getting the CEO or the CFO out in front of investors, adds Viehbacher. It’s also about delivering consistency – from the messages delivered by the IR team to the results delivered by the company – and that’s where the growth comes in.
