CIRI has announced the election of Nathalie Megann, vice president of IR and corporate affairs at Chorus Aviation, as chair of its national board of directors.
She takes over the position from Denis Jasmin, vice president of IR at SNC-Lavalin, who has completed his two-year term.
Megann has more than 25 years’ experience in the aviation industry. Following roles at InterCanadian and Air Nova, she joined Jazz Aviation in 2000, later becoming the regional airline’s first IRO.
In 2010, Chorus Aviation was set up to act as a holding company for Jazz. It later acquired another Canadian airline, Voyageur Airways. In her current role at Chorus, Megann is responsible for IR and corporate communications, along with public and government affairs.
‘Nathalie’s blend of experience in corporate governance, communications and investor relations will be beneficial as CIRI responds to the evolving needs of investor relations professionals,’ says Jasmin in a statement. ‘Her expertise, coupled with her approachability and strong leadership skills will serve CIRI well as we continue to advance the stature of the profession.’
Megann adds in the statement: ‘With the support of Denis and the rest of this talented board, I look forward to contributing to CIRI’s strategic direction, continuing to raise the awareness of investor relations in Canada and further promoting CIRI’s mandate to contribute to the transparency and integrity of the Canadian capital market.’
In the same announcement, CIRI reports the election of three new national board members: Greg Blazina, head of Canada at Business Wire; David Frost, a partner at McCarthy Tétrault; and Lisa Greatrix, senior vice president of finance and IR at Canadian Tire Corporation.
