Continental has appointed Anna Fischer as its new head of investor relations, effective April 1.
Fischer, the German automotive supplier’s current deputy head of IR, will succeed Bernard Wang, who is stepping down for personal reasons, according to a statement from the company.
Fischer first joined Continental in 2004 and has held a range of finance roles across accounting, treasury and controlling. She took up her current role in 2019.
In the statement, Katja Dürrfeld, Continental’s CFO, pays tribute to the outgoing head of IR. ‘Bernard Wang guided the transformation of our company in an extremely challenging economic environment and represented Continental superbly in dialog with investors and analysts,’ she says.
‘For this, we owe him our deepest thanks. We will be sorry to see him go. On behalf of the executive board, I wish Bernard all the best for the future, in both his personal and professional life.’
Warm welcome
Dürrfeld also welcomes Fischer to her new role: ‘At the same time, we are delighted that in Anna Fischer we are gaining a proven financial manager to head up investor relations.
‘She is extremely well connected within the company thanks to the positions she has held in various areas and knows the business inside out. Therefore, I have no doubt that she will seamlessly continue our trusting dialog with investors and analysts and inspire new momentum.’
The company is due to release its preliminary 2021 full-year results.
