Covidien and Intel receive eight nominations each, while Danaher has seven
Garnering eight nominations each, Covidien and Intel are the two most-nominated companies for the IR Magazine Awards – US 2013. More impressively, both companies have greatly increased their nomination counts from last year when Covidien was nominated in three award categories and Intel in only two.
Now in their 18th year, the IR Magazine Awards – US 2013 are the industry’s most prestigious and coveted awards that honor leading companies and professionals in investor relations. This year, the awards will take place on the evening of March 21, 2013, at a black-tie dinner and ceremony at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City. View the full list of nominees here.
The second-highest nomination count for the IR Magazine Awards – US 2013 goes to Danaher, with seven. These three companies ‒ Covidien, Danaher and Intel ‒ and Honeywell will vie for the top prize of best overall IR program – large cap ($20 bn and over in market capitalization). This is a rematch of last year’s fight for the top spot, which Covidien eventually won.
In the $2 bn to $20 bn mid-cap category, Broadcom, Kansas City Southern, Limited Brands and Wyndham Worldwide are nominated for best overall IR program. Broadcom is the only repeat nominee from 2012; it was the eventual winner last year. In the small-cap category (under $2 bn), the short list for best overall IR program includes Jack in the Box, Old National Bancorp, US Airways Group and ViroPharma.
Underpinning the IR Magazine Awards – US 2013 is a body of research that identifies the best corporate IR teams and provides a window into the thinking of IR’s most important audience: investors.
This survey is the only one of its kind to go directly to the investment community, via a combination of electronic surveys and one-to-one telephone interviews conducted over the course of five months in 2012, canvassing the opinions of more than 800 investors, analysts and portfolio managers across the US.
