DIRK CEO-designate turns down role

Torsten Tragl, announced as DIRK’s new CEO in May, will not join the association, citing personal reasons

DIRK, the German IR association, is searching for a new full-time manager after the CEO-designate Torsten Tragl decided not to take up the position.

Tragl, who is currently chief executive of HFN Kommunikation, a German corporate communications firm, was announced as the new CEO of DIRK in May. A statement from DIRK says Tragl decided not to take up the post due to personal reasons.

In the statement, DIRK says it is in the process of interviewing candidates for the role and hopes to name a new CEO as quickly as possible. If a chief executive is not found soon, an interim manager will be appointed, adds DIRK.

The German association, one of the world’s largest IR societies, has struggled to find a full-time manager following last year’s departure of Kay Bommer, who had run DIRK for 10 years.

Since Bommer’s departure, DIRK’s business development manager Peter List had been running the organization on an interim basis, but he left the association in June to take up a new position at online IR consultant EquityStory.
