JPMorgan Chase has appointed Aaron Bertinetti as its head of ESG for investor relations, a newly created role.
Bertinetti spent the last 13 years working for proxy advisory firm Glass Lewis, most recently as senior vice president and head of all ESG research, advisory and stewardship activities. In that role, he had a unique vantage point to see how many investors’ views are evolving on ESG.
He reports into Reggie Chambers, JPMorgan Chase’s head of investor relations, who shared the news in a note to analysts on September 8.
‘JPMorgan Chase continues to focus on being a leader in environmental, social and governance efforts and, despite the complexities of the current environment, we are continuing to accelerate ESG efforts across the firm,’ Chambers wrote. Bertinetti will help the IR team connect effectively with investors and analysts on ESG, Chambers added.
Chambers is nine months into leading the company’s investor relations team, having taken over from Jason Scott at the start of 2021. The company is a regular IR Magazine Award winner, picking up one trophy in 2021 and two in 2020.
In a comment on LinkedIn, Bertinetti says: ‘I’m very excited to join the investor relations team and to continue to engage with the investment and ESG communities I’ve spent almost 15 years with. It’s a privilege to be entrusted as a representative of the incredible and globally impactful work, including on climate change, done by so many talented professionals across JPMorgan Chase & Co.’
