Artificial intelligence-enhanced process-mining software company Celonis has appointed John Cummings as its senior vice president of investor relations and corporate development, a newly created role.
Cummings joined the company on September 28 and reports to Guido Torrini, the company’s chief financial officer. Celonis is privately held, but late last year it closed a $250 mn series C round – valuing the company at $2.5 bn.
In September 2019 Torini told the Wall Street Journal: ‘The goal is to become a world-class company, and an IPO might be a mechanical step that is required in order to achieve that goal. Or it might not be.’
Cummings spent the last nine years working at Salesforce.com, leading the IR function for eight of those years and most recently leading financial planning and analysis. During that time, Salesforce won five IR Magazine Awards, while Cummings personally won the best investor relations officer (large cap) award in 2018.
Prior to Salesforce, Cummings worked in various finance and IR positions at private and public companies including Sybase and Pets.com. He started his career as an analyst at a Washington, DC-based long-short hedge fund.
