Jeffrey Heinz gets vice president role as new strategy kicks in
Gannett has announced the promotion of its long-standing IR director Jeffrey Heinz to the role of vice president of IR as the media and marketing company works to implement a new growth strategy.
Heinz has served as investor relations director at Gannett since 2003. Prior to this, he held the same post at SLM Corporation (Sallie Mae).
Gracia Martore, president and CEO of the USA Today publisher, comments in a release: ‘I’ve worked with Jeff for nearly nine years and I couldn’t be more pleased to announce his well-deserved promotion.
‘He has been an important part of our team here at Gannett and plays a critical role in effectively communicating the strong fundamentals of our company and our new strategic direction to our investors and the investment community.’
Gannett used a New York investor day in February to present a new growth plan to the market as well as a capital allocation program intended to return $1.3 bn to shareholders by 2015.
Heinz’s promotion comes soon after the announcement of a new chief financial officer, Victoria Harker, who started at Gannett on Monday.
