Honeywell’s Elena Doom joins Corbin Perception

Award-winning IRO will co-lead the firm with founder Rebecca Corbin

Elena Doom, Honeywell’s IRO of more than five years and regular IR award winner, has joined Corbin Perception as managing partner where she will co-lead the firm alongside founder Rebecca Corbin.

During Doom’s tenure as head of IR, Honeywell consistently placed in the top five companies for investor relations in the US market, according to IR Magazine’s US Top 100 ranking. The firm also received several awards. Last year, for example, it took home three gongs at the IR Magazine Awards – US: best IR by a CFO, best IR in sector and best financial reporting.

In addition, Institutional Investor named Doom as the first-placed IR professional for the ‘capital goods/industrial – electrical equipment and multi-industry’ category in 2014.

Launched in 2007, Corbin has grown over the years and is now a nine-person company. While the firm's core offering remains perception studies, it has branched out into other areas, for example targeting in 2013. Doom's arrival will help boost Corbin's IR advisory services.

‘I look forward to further developing [Corbin Perception’s] advisory relationships with investors and executives and assisting our clients in enhancing their IR strategies,’ she comments in a press statement.

Doom started at Honeywell in 2002 where she held roles in treasury and M&A as well as IR. Prior to joining the US conglomerate, she was an associate at accounting firm Arthur Anderson.

Given Honeywell’s large and complex business, Doom spent her time in IR focused on demystifying the corporate story and boosting transparency, she explained to IR Magazine in an interview last year. ‘We deploy a very holistic financial reporting process in which the business units work very closely with finance,’ she said.
