IR lead named for newly created role at fuboTV

Alison Sternberg joins live-streaming sports TV firm at ‘pivotal time for the company’

New York-headquartered fuboTV, a live-streaming sports TV company with operations in the US, Canada and Spain, has named Alison Sternberg as its new senior vice president of investor relations.

The IR lead position is a newly created role for the company that listed on the NYSE in October 2020 and was recently added to the Russell 2000 Index at the Russell indexes annual reconstitution in June.

Sternberg’s appointment is effective immediately. She brings 25 years of experience in investor relations and financial services to the position and reports to David Gandler, co-founder and CEO of fuboTV.

‘Developing an integrated investor relations strategy and working directly with the investment community is a critical function for a newly public company like fuboTV,’ says Gandler in a statement welcoming Sternberg to the company. ‘I’m thrilled Alison is joining the team to guide our investor communications and serve as an important liaison between fuboTV and Wall Street.’

In her new role, Sternberg manages all investor relations as well as working with the executive team to lead communications around the company’s investor strategy, initiatives, ventures and performance as it seeks to ‘continue to disrupt the paid TV space.’

The company says that through its proprietary data and technology platform, which has been ‘optimized for live TV and sports viewership’, it is aiming to ‘turn passive viewers into active participants and define a new category of interactive television.’

Its subscribers can stream a mix of 100+ live TV channels, and fuboTV says it is also looking to add new interactive elements with the launch of ‘predictive free-to-play gaming in Q3 2021’, as well as a sports betting ‘experience’ in Q4 2021, subject to regulatory approvals.

‘I am so happy to join fuboTV at this pivotal time as the company continues to drive growth through product innovation and the delivery of a differentiated customer experience,’ says Sternberg. ‘I look forward to interacting with the investment community and communicating our exciting story.’

Sternberg’s experience in direct-to-consumer companies includes roles as IR lead at home teeth-straightening firm SmileDirectClub, from where she joins fuboTV, and as vice president of IR at online car dealership TrueCar.
