Julian Cassells starts own IR services firm

Alpha Advisory Associates features three former Altman Group employees

Investor relations services veteran Julian Cassells has left LS Global after just a year to launch her own firm.

Alpha Advisory Associates will have a global focus offering a range of services including shareholder identification, proxy solicitation, perception studies and roadshow planning.

Cassells worked at the Altman Group for nine years, running the firm’s shareholder identification and proxy solicitation businesses.

She left in August 2011 after American Stock Transfer & Trust Company (AST) took over Altman and cut back its exposure to the IR services market.

AST said at the time it wanted to concentrate more on Altman’s core business of proxy services for mutual funds and closed-end funds.

LS Global, a boutique shareholder ID and market intelligence firm, then swooped to pick up Cassells and a number of her former Altman colleagues.

Along with Altman and LS Global, Cassells has also held positions at Georgeson, Citigate Dewe Rogerson and Taylor Rafferty.

At Alpha Advisory, she is joined by two colleagues from Altman’s former shareholder ID and proxy teams: Ngozi Okoji and Livia Pereira.

‘We will continue to service companies in Europe, Asia and emerging markets, with a focus on common shares, ADRs and global DRs,’ says Cassells in an email.

‘We are very serious about helping companies to better communicate with shareholders, from identifying the shares to arranging meetings with the investment decision makers and/or governance professionals.’
