Ladbrokes IRO to cover CFO remit during merger

Snow gained recognition at the IR Magazine Awards, winning the award for most improved investor relations in the FTSE 100 in 2007, as well as the accolade for best US investor relations by a UK company in both 2007 and 2008.

Gala Coral finance head to serve as enlarged entity’s CFO

Richard Snow, head of IR at Ladbrokes, will be stepping up to serve as interim CFO during the merger with private equity-owned Gala Coral, the Harrow-based betting firm has announced.

The Cambridge University graduate, who started his career in audit with Arthur Andersen, has made several career switches between investment banking and senior IR roles.

Snow served as head of UK corporate finance for Merrill Lynch and as managing director in corporate broking at Goldman Sachs before joining Vodafone as global director for M&A. He was also a non-executive director for its South African subsidiary Vodacom.

During his four year tenure as the mobile operator’s head of IR, Snow gained recognition at the IR Magazine Awards, winning the award for most improved investor relations in the FTSE 100 in 2007, as well as the accolade for best US investor relations by a UK company in both 2007 and 2008.

After another stint in investment banking at Nomura and Banco Espirito Santo de Investimento, Snow was hired to lead IR at Ladbrokes in February 2014.

CFO Ian Bull will be leaving the London-listed company in February, with his counterpart at Gala Coral, Paul Bowtell due to take over as finance head for the enlarged group after the deal’s completion.
