Loews Corporation promotes Mary Skafidas

Head of IR becomes vice president of investor and public relations

Loews Corporation, a large diversified US holding company, has promoted Mary Skafidas, who has been head of IR since joining the company in January this year, to vice president of investor and public relations.

A graduate of Stony Brook University and Baruch College, Skafidas has worked in corporate communications, media and IR for almost 20 years, with roles at Toyota Motor North America and McGraw-Hill.

Prior to joining Loews Corporation, she was vice president of corporate communications and marketing for McGraw-Hill Education.

Her new role will cover not only IR and PR but also corporate marketing and corporate communications for the company, which has interests in the insurance, energy, mining and hospitality sectors.

Loews is planning to expand the latter by doubling its hotel count over a three-year to five-year period, and expects its hospitality revenue to triple within the next three years.
