Manulife has appointed Adrienne O’Neill as its new head of investor relations, effective immediately, following an internal reshuffle.
O’Neill succeeds Robert Veloso, who has been promoted to the role of global head of financial planning and analysis for Manulife. In this role he will also provide reporting and forward-looking insights to the company’s management.
O’Neill is now the company’s primary spokesperson to the investment community, overseeing the preparation of investor communication materials and providing strategic counsel to the senior management team. She joined Manulife in 2007 and has progressed through the company’s insurance and wealth businesses, most recently serving as head of the private markets business office at Manulife Asset Management. Prior to joining Manulife, she spent four years with KPMG.
‘With more than a decade of experience at Manulife and an extensive knowledge of financial reporting, Adrienne is very well positioned to lead our investor relations program,’ says Phil Witherington, Manulife CFO, in a statement. ‘I look forward to her leadership in continuing to build our global shareholder base.’
Veloso joined Manulife in 2010 and has progressed through the levels of seniority in the IR department. Having joined as director of investor relations, he was promoted to associate vice president in December 2010 and then to vice president of IR in 2014.
