Middle East IR Society announces creation of first chapter outside home region
ME-IR officially announced this morning that its seventh chapter will be situated in London, the first chapter to be launched outside the Middle East region.
The London chapter will be ‘aimed at strengthening the relationship between society members in the Middle East and London entities focused on the region,’ says ME-IR chairman Paul Reynolds in a statement.
Reynolds added that the foundation of a London chapter is ‘a logical next step in the development of the society’, and Maria Hunt, general manager of ME-IR, explained why.
‘Many of the society’s adviser members are headquartered in London, not to mention the fact that a large number of investors and analysts covering the region are also based in the City,’ she comments in the statement.
The chapter is intended as a platform to promote dealings between members in the Middle East region and London-based investors.
Meeting regularly, the board will arrange workshops for analysts and investors and educate and assist companies via programs, conferences and thought-leadership publications.
The launch of the London chapter follows the creation of ME:IR's Abu Dhabi chapter last week.
