The Middle East Investor Relations Association (Meira) has announced the appointment of John Gollifer as its new general manager. He will join Meira on January 20, 2019 succeeding Clemence Piot, who has been general manager since 2014.
Gollifer has a strong track record and extensive international experience in the field of IR, having been general manager and executive director of the board of the UK’s IR Society for six years. Prior to this, he spent 11 years at Singapore Exchange as senior vice president and head of IR.
He also established and ran the IR Professionals Association of Singapore and taught an IR course at the Singapore Management University from 2009 to 2012.
He is already known by Meira and some of its members and partners, having contributed to setting up and rolling out the Certified Investor Relations Officer Programme training across the region.
Andrew Tarbuck, chairman of Meira, says in a statement: ‘With the regional capital markets seeing unprecedented change as well as ever-increasing international interest, these are key times for investor relations. We are thrilled to have John Gollifer as our new general manager to develop Meira through these exciting times.
‘He brings outstanding experience to his new role, both in association management and IR, and I am certain he will contribute enormously to the further development of Meira’s offering for the benefit of our members.’
Commenting on his new role, Gollifer adds: ‘It is a privilege and an honor to be given the opportunity to lead Meira into the future. I very much look forward to joining the association in the new year, working closely with the board and the executive team, and to meeting all our members, partners and supporters.’
