Charles Koons joined Morrow Sodali’s activism and contested situations advisory group earlier this summer
Morrow Sodali has appointed Charles Koons as managing director of its activism and contested situations advisory group.
Koons most recently served as a managing director at MacKenzie Partners, where he spent 22 years. During this time, he represented both corporate issuers and shareholders, including Forest Laboratories in its defense against Icahn Group, Hess Corporation in its defense against Elliott Management and Trian Partners in its proxy fight with DuPont.
Koons, who started his new role on July 10, works alongside Michael Verrechia, also managing director of Morrow Sodali’s activism and contested situations advisory group. Verrechia is also a member of the firm’s executive committee.
‘Charlie’s addition to the Morrow Sodali team represents a significant strengthening of our capabilities in the contested situations arena that we are dealing with in many markets in the world,’ says Alvise Recchi, chief executive of Morrow Sodali.
MacKenzie Partners intends to fill Koons’ position internally.
