US insurance firm appoints EMEA specialist Francesca Luthi
Assurant, the New York-based insurance group, has hired Francesca Luthi as senior vice president of investor relations.
She is replacing Melissa Kevitt, who is moving on to be senior vice president of business development and strategy.
Luthi is joining from Accretive Health, a billing service provider for the healthcare sector, where she was serving as senior vice president of corporate communications and investor relations.
A graduate from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, Luthi started her career as a financial analyst in the general industrial group at Morgan Stanley.
She was hired in 2000 by Omnicom to develop the IR function, subsequently taking on the role of IR director at consulting giant Accenture, where she set up a new department focusing on the EMEA region.
In 2005 she moved on to be the global head of IR at Bearing Point based in London, before joining Accretive Health in 2011.
Benchmarking firm Ward Group recently included Assurant in its 2012 Ward’s 50 list of top-performing insurance companies.
