Montréal-headquartered Bombardier has named its new vice president of IR. Patrick Ghoche joined the firm on January 18 from KPMG where he was a managing director in the corporate finance branch ‘focusing on mergers and acquisitions and raising capital within consumer and industrial markets’ since 2013, according to a company release.

An HEC Montréal graduate, chartered professional accountant and chartered financial analyst, Ghoche also spent nine years in investment banking at CIBC and RBC.

He succeeds Shirley Chénier, CIRI’s vice president, who retired in October last year after serving 20 years in the aerospace & transportation company’s IR department. During her tenure, Bombardier was a regular winner at the IR Magazine Awards – Canada, most recently taking home the mid-cap grand prix for best overall IR in 2015, 2014 and 2013, as well as accolades for best IR by a CEO (mid-cap) in 2015, best use of technology in 2015 and 2014 and the best in sector award for industrial companies in 2015, 2014, 2013 and 2012.

‘Patrick Ghoche is a highly dynamic executive with more than 15 years’ experience in finance and accounting, making him an excellent addition to our team,’ says CFO John Di Bert in the release. ‘One of his main responsibilities will be to communicate information to the Street regarding Bombardier’s transformation and performance in a transparent way.’

The Dow Jones Sustainability North America Index constituent posted revenues of C$29 bn ($20 bn) for 2014 with its Toronto-listed shares trading at one quarter of its 1996 IPO price of C$5 at time of writing.
