Rite Aid, the US drugstore chain, has appointed Trent Kruse to the newly created role of vice president of investor relations and treasury.
Kruse joins from Scientific Games, a gambling products company, where he worked as senior vice president of IR. Prior to that, he held a variety of IR, communications and finance positions at JCPenney.
At Rite Aid, Kruse is now responsible for engaging with investors and analysts over the company’s ‘revitalization efforts,’ according to a statement. He is also tasked with enhancing ESG policies.
‘It is great to welcome Trent to Rite Aid’s senior leadership team as we continue driving our strategy forward,’ says Matthew Schroeder, Rite Aid’s CFO, in the statement.
‘Trent’s excellent relationships with the finance and investment communities, and in-depth experience managing investor communications and capital markets activity, will play an essential role in realizing Rite Aid’s vision for the future.’
In March this year, Rite Aid launched a new growth strategy and updated the company branding. The analyst day was supposed to happen in person and feature physical models of new store designs, but had to be switched to a virtual format due to the spread of coronavirus.
