He most recently worked at Barclays, where his most senior position was as US head of institutional corporate marketing. He specialized in building relationships in the industrial, consumer, retail and business services sectors, while overseeing the firm’s US sector teams.
Smith joined Barclays as part of its acquisition of Lehman Brothers in 2008. He joined Lehman Brothers in 1997, where he jointly managed the firm’s New York institutional equity sales desk and oversaw the desk’s corporate access efforts. He started his career at J&W Seligman & Company and has also worked at Dean Witter Reynolds.
Rose & Company’s CEO Simon Rose says he is ‘extremely pleased to welcome Peter. His experience helping companies across various industries develop strategies to effectively market their stories to Wall Street and his nuanced understanding of corporate access will be invaluable resources for our firm as we seek to help our clients navigate an increasingly complex capital markets landscape.’
Smith says he was drawn to the role due to the ‘shift in how corporate access is offered and consumed, which has created a disruption in the capital markets for some companies.’
