Felenstein is a seasoned media IRO with a background in accounting. After graduating from the State University of New York at Binghamton, he started his career in audit and business advisory at Arthur Andersen, later moving on to financial planning and analysis at Viacom, a CBS spin-off. Prior to joining Discovery Communications in 2008, he spent eight years serving as vice president of IR at News Corporation.

Welcoming Felenstein in a company statement, Shutterstock CFO Tim Bixby says: ‘Craig is an accomplished finance executive who has proven to be a valued resource for both the investment community and his management teams over many years. With his well-respected track record in investor relations and financial operations, we are thrilled to have him join the team.’

Shutterstock, which was founded in 2003 as a subscription-based stock photography website and listed on the NYSE nine years later, now boasts a ‘growing community of more than 70,000 contributors’, an offering of more than 50 mn images and 2 mn video clips, and a market cap of $2.3 bn.
