Short lists announced for IR Magazine Canada Awards 2012
TD Bank will compete for the most prizes at the upcoming IR Magazine Canada Awards 2012, following the announcement of the nominations this week.
The Canadian bank is nominated in nine categories in all, one more than last year, including the grand prix for large-cap companies, best IR by a CEO, best IR by a CFO and best investor relations officer for head of IR, Rudy Sankovic.
In the case of the first three awards, the highly decorated IR team at TD Bank will be defending the same trophies it picked up in early 2011, when it went on to win five awards in total.
The 2012 winners will be announced on February 1, 2012 at a gala event in Toronto, Canada.

TD Bank’s closest competition in 2012 looks likely to come from CN and Goldcorp.
CN, the railroad company, has doubled the three nominations it achieved in 2011, as the table above shows.
In an even more notable achievement, Goldcorp is included on six short lists for 2012, after not featuring on any short lists in the previous year.
Success for Goldcorp at the upcoming awards would end a barren decade for the gold producer, which has not won an IR magazine award since 2002.
Bombardier and Canadian Natural Resources have also performed well this time round, picking up five nominations apiece.
The short lists and eventual winners are determined by a rigorous, independent survey of more than 250 portfolio managers, buy-side analysts and sell-side analysts, overseen by IR Insight, IR magazine’s research arm.
