Total’s finance boss moves back to IR as senior vice president

Ladislas Paszkiewicz starts new role in July

Ladislas Paszkiewicz, a finance executive at Total who previously won four trophies in Paris at IR Magazine’s Continental Europe Awards, including best IRO, is returning to his IR career at the French mega-cap oil and gas company.

Total has appointed the long-standing employee as its new senior vice president of investor relations, effective from July 1. Paszkiewicz, who is also a member of the group performance management committee, joined the firm in1985 in the finance division.

He moved to IR in 1991, where he stayed until 2004. He was then promoted the following year within Total.

From 2005 to 2015, he worked in Total’s exploration and production (E&P) business unit, as managing director of the firm’s E&P subsidiary in Argentina, senior vice president for the Middle East and then senior vice president for the Americas. Four years ago, he became vice president of acquisitions and divestments in the finance division. Currently, he is senior vice president of strategy and climate, a position he has held since 2016.

London-based Mike Sangster will move back to the IR role he previously occupied on an interim basis until Paszkiewicz begins his new job, Total reveals in a statement. Sangster is a Total veteran who has been with the company since 1995 and was appointed to lead the IR team in 2015. Prior to joining the investor relations team, he was managing director of Total E&P in Australia.

In January this year Total named analyst Brendan Warn as its new senior vice president of IR, taking over from Sangster. Warn joined the firm from BMO Capital Markets in London where he served as managing director and UK head of equity research. Total confirmed to IR Magazine that Warn has left the company after three months in the role.
