US Top 100: Companies surge up ranking

Half of top 10 changes in 2017

A handful of companies flew up the rankings at the IR Magazine Awards – US 2017, climbing dozens of places to enter the top 10.

Each year, IR Magazine takes the scores from all the categories at the US Awards and combines them to form a ranking: the US Top 100.

In 2017, four companies in the top 10 climbed more than 30 places from their 2016 position. The most dramatic increase came from Jack in the Box, which moved from joint 65th place in 2016 to third place this year.

‘Jack in the Box communicates its message well to the Street, holds good analyst days and is always available,’ commented one member of the buy side during the awards research.

The other big climbers are Starbucks, Visa and Comcast, which rose 51, 30 and 32 places, respectively.

Sherwin-Williams, the building materials company, placed first overall in the rankings, as well as winning in three awards categories.

The awards research is conducted through an independent survey of members of the buy side and sell side. The full US top 100 ranking, as well as verbatim comments about high-performing companies, can be found in the IR Magazine Investor Perception Study – US 2017.
