Utz Brands names Kevin Powers as senior vice president of investor relations

Snack producer went public via merger with Spac last year

Utz Brands, the US-based producer of snack foods, has appointed Kevin Powers as its new senior vice president of investor relations.

The role became effective on January 4 and Powers reports to Utz’s CFO and executive vice president Cary Devore.

Powers joins from CommScope, the network infrastructure company, where he worked as vice president of IR for around two and a half years.

In total, he has around 15 years of experience in IR and communications roles at companies including Campbell Soup, Snyder’s-Lance and Family Dollar.

During his time in IR, he has also been president, treasurer and program chair for the Charlotte chapter of NIRI, the US IR association.

‘As a newly public company, we continue to build our connectivity with the investment community and are very pleased to have an investor relations professional of Kevin’s caliber join the Utz team,’ says Dylan Lissette, CEO of Utz, in a company statement.

‘He brings a deep and broad pool of knowledge of investor relations, corporate finance and M&A to Utz, having led programs at several prominent companies, including within the consumer space.’

Utz went public in August last year via a merger with Collier Creek Holdings, a special purpose acquisition company (Spac). The company had been a family-owned business for nearly 100 years before the Spac merger.
