Virtu Financial has appointed Deborah Belevan as its new senior vice president of investor relations and communications.
Belevan takes the reins from Andrew Smith, who has run the IR function since the company’s IPO in 2015. Smith will now focus on product development for the company.
The move sees Belevan, who joined Virtu Financial on November 25, reconnect with Alex Ioffe, who was hired as the company’s chief financial officer in September this year. The two previously worked together at Interactive Brokers, where Belevan headed up the IR function following a 2007 IPO and also served as an institutional sales representative.
Belevan tells IR Magazine that she is excited to return to the FinTech sector.
She most recently served as vice president of investor relations at Hudson Group, a role she held between November 2017 and November 2019. She has also held IR roles at Party City and Meridian Gold.
