Wish appoints vice president of investor relations

Dennis Walsh took up role on February 1

Wish has appointed Dennis Walsh as its first vice president of investor relations, effective February 1. Walsh reports into Rajat Bahri, CFO of Wish, which concluded its IPO on Nasdaq in December 2020.

Walsh spent the last 18 months at Postmates, serving as its senior director and head of investor relations. He joined the company in September 2019, shortly before its planned IPO. The company ultimately announced that Uber would be acquiring Postmates. That transaction was completed on December 1, 2020.

During his tenure at Postmates, Walsh held mock-earnings calls to familiarize management with the process and the nature of analyst questions during a live earnings call. He also conducted frequent competitor analysis – through analyst notes, relationships with analysts and monitoring news and corporate announcements – and acted as the liaison to Postmates’ private investors.

Prior to Postmates, Walsh served as director of IR at Zillow Group. During his tenure there, Zillow Group won IR Magazine Awards for best financial reporting in 2018 and best crisis management in 2019.

Walsh built his IR experience as a consultant at Sharon Merrill Associates and as a member of Citi’s depositary receipts IR advisory team. He started his career at Thomson Reuters.
