IR Magazine has a long history of honoring those men, women and companies around the world that excel at investor relations. In celebration of 30 years of IR Magazine, we selected 30 IR stars that have shone particularly brightly over the past three decades and will be posting one profile each day for 30 days.
Rolf Woller, head of IR at Continental, is a familiar figure at the IR Magazine Awards – Europe, most recently scooping the best large-cap IRO accolade at last year’s event, something he cites as one of the highlights of his IR career. But he adds that getting so many nods over the years for being ‘one of the most useful guys in investor relations’ is more about ‘my fantastic team members than my own capabilities.’
His other IR highlight? ‘Re-entering the DAX for the third time in 2012’ is up there, says Woller.
Talking to IR Magazine shortly after taking home the best IRO award in summer 2018, Woller spoke about what he feels is the most important thing an IR team can offer. ‘It’s all about information: teams need to focus on disseminating accurate, timely, consistent and useful information to their investors. It’s vital that this includes an assessment of industry and macro trends to allow investors to make an informed and fair judgment on their investment,’ he said at the time, adding that internal communication is also vital.
