Houston-headquartered ConocoPhillips made an impressive run in 2015, climbing a massive 136 places in the US rankings to take third place and enter the Global Top 50 for the first time. Speaking to IR Magazine for the Investor Perception Study – US 2015, engineer-turned-IRO Vladimir dela Cruz attributed the company’s change of IR fortunes to Ellen DeSanctis, head of IR at ConocoPhillips since 2012. ‘She has brought a lot of IR fundamentals to our program,’ said dela Cruz at the time.
DeSanctis, who also started out as an engineer but has more than 30 years’ experience of technical, strategic and communications leadership within the oil and natural gas industry, has doubled the IR team since joining the firm from Petrohawk Energy as well as working to reposition the company after the spin-off of its midstream, downstream and chemicals businesses to create Phillips 66 in 2012.
