Kerry Logistics: On-the-ground showcases help firm take investor event award

Hong Kong-listed logistics giant wins judges’ vote with reverse roadshow offering

Mini-profile taken from the Award-Winning IR – Asia 2017 report details why the judges named Kerry Logistics as top for best investor event in the self-nomination section at the IR Magazine Awards – Greater China 2017.

The Hong Kong-based firm has been organizing reverse roadshows annually since its 2013 listing in order to share insights into emerging trends in the logistics landscape.

The event, which has taken place in Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam and Hong Kong, includes a combination of presentations from key executives and local management, as well as on-the-ground showcases of logistics operations.

Setting a date and location to attract a maximum number of attendees is a key challenge. The IR team comes up with a theme for each reverse roadshow, with past topics including economic integration and the e-commerce boom in the Asean region and the Belt and Road Initiative. Content usually features a business update and yearly guidance, various on-site visits of 24/7 logistics operations and meetings with local management.

The IR team plans all logistics arrangements and presentation materials, working with local management on the itinerary and on-site visit plan. The IT department assists in digital registration of attendees, each of whom is a QR code for easy identification. A post-event survey is sent to attendees to collect feedback.

The 2017 event was very well received with a record number of registrations and a fully signed-up attendance rate. Twelve of the sell-side analysts present published notes with positive comments while an increase in holdings from attending investors was picked up on the quarterly shareholding analysis report.

The reverse roadshow also served as due diligence for analysts who were considering initiating coverage, with one actually doing so a month after the event.
