North America: the peripheral cities

The benefits of traveling beyond New York and Boston are increasing

When RWE plans its North American roadshows, there are a number of reasons why Toronto is a destination of choice. The city has well-educated long-term investors and substantial assets under management, explains Gunhild Grieve, senior manager of IR at the German power utility.

Trips to peripheral cities are a ‘very valuable thing to do,’ she says. ‘For us, Toronto and Chicago are the two secondary cities that sit on top. We go with the management team to both cities at least once a year.’

That belief is shared by HSBC, the global bank with corporate access offices across the Americas, Europe and Asia. To make the most of trips to North America, HSBC helps international companies explore valuable opportunities beyond New York and Boston.
