Building materials firm climbs into the top 10 of the IR Magazine US Top 100
First in the materials sector this year, Sherwin-Williams has also risen up the US Top 100 from joint 15th in 2015 to seventh in 2016.
The lean IR effort, run by Bob Wells, continues to enjoy solid input from senior management, as evidenced by the response from the investment community: ‘Sherwin-Williams is out on the road a lot and the company’s estimates are always on a even keel, never too high or too low.’
Another respondent, a buy-sider this time, likes the company’s approach to financial reporting: ‘Sherwin-Williams has clear disclosure that is delivered succinctly. It provides GAAP numbers rather than complicated adjustments.’
And the financial reporting is generally highly respected, not least because the company tells a consistent story and there are first-rate communicators in the senior management team.
This clearly inspires and increases confidence in the company among Wells’ audience of investors and analysts, as does the consistency of the message, as this sell-sider specifically notes: ‘Sherwin-Williams tells a consistent story and management is excellent at communicating with us, which gives me great confidence in it.
