Russian IR associations to merge

ARFI and OSSI say best practice is for each country to have a single IR society

Russia’s two IR associations – the Financial Communications and Investor Relations Association (ARFI) and the Russian Association of Investor Relations Professionals (OSSI) – announced today they have signed an agreement to merge.

In a joint statement on ARFI’s website, the two societies say the integration will bring Russia in line with other countries where there is a single IR body representing the profession.

The new not-for-profit organization formed by the combination will meet the needs of both ARFI and OSSI members, says the statement.

‘It is important that a sole organization working on the improvement of IR practices of issuers and information disclosure exists in every country in developed and emerging markets,’ comments Olga Rink, executive director of ARFI, in the statement.
