Small-cap conference agenda revealed

New event to take place in New York this September

The agenda for IR Magazine’s new one-day event for small-cap IROs, CFOs, CEOs and advisers has now been published, covering everything from macroeconomics to retail investors, getting coverage and making the most of social media.

After breakfast, registration and opening remarks, the conference will kick off with a macroeconomic briefing, including a look at how US policies could impact growth and interest rates, what President Donald Trump’s policies could mean for asset allocation and what small-cap companies can expect in the coming 12 months across oil, exchange rates, security, and more.

This will be followed by an investor relations 101 session, which will examine what makes for an effective IR program, the role of IR in a growing company, what your website says about your business and tips on recruiting to the IR role.

Two more sessions follow a 10.15 am refreshment break, both on investor intelligence. Part one will be a Q&A with the investment community, examining challenges such as how to make your firm attractive to investors, what the buy side wants when it comes to disclosure, access and guidance and where some companies go wrong on compliance. Part two offers tips on how to expand your investor base with high-impact targeting.

A networking lunch will be followed by three more afternoon sessions: crisis planning, communication and competition will cover everything from keeping your CEO on-script to making a big statement on a small budget and navigating sticky situations. A session on the digitalization of IR will examine new trends, benchmarking the effectiveness of your website and using social media to set yourself apart. Finally, we’ll take a look at best practice small-cap IR with case studies from award-winning firms.

The conference, to be held at Fordham University on September 13, will close with a drinks reception. Click here for more information or to book your place now.
