Laurie Havelock is a journalist, writer and podcaster who has worked with IR Magazine for more than a decade. He was previously assistant business editor at the Daily Telegraph and acting business and money editor at the i newspaper. In his spare time, he is a keen boardgamer and hosts a podcast about them called Idle Fantasy. He lives in London with his husky, Mischa.
Amit Bhalla, SVP, head of investor relations, Schneider Electric
Amit leads Investor Relations at Schneider Electric, a company with a market capitalisation of around Euro 130 billion, that is leading the digital transformation of Energy Management and Industrial Automation. He has consistently been ranked as the top industrial investor relations professional in Europe by Institutional Investor since 2019. Amit started his career in consulting with Arthur Andersen and has over the years worked in leadership roles in global corporations leading diverse teams. Amit has accumulated strong international exposure having lived and worked in UK, Singapore, China, France and India. Amit has a Bachelors’ degree in Commerce and is a qualified Chartered Accountant with management courses from Insead and UNC.
Sam Jobson, head of industry - IR, AlphaSense
Sam manages the relationships between AlphaSense and Investor Relations team’s across EMEA. Having worked with IR teams across Europe for the last 8 years, Sam brings a wealth of experience working with market data and technology, specific to IR. Among other roles, he was previously part of the EMEA team that took Q4 another Investor relations service provider, to IPO in 2021.
Richard Whiteing, vice president, head of investor relations, SES
Richard is an IR professional with 20 years’ experience working for multiple mid- to large-cap companies in the U.K. and Europe. Over that time, Richard has been involved a full range of IR activities including multiple M&A transactions, $billions of investments and disposals, various equity/debt raisings, and delivering IR engagement for companies with global shareholder bases, including during times of challenging macro scenarios and industry disruption. Since 2016, Richard has led the IR team for SES, a world-leading satellite-based communications company with annual revenue of $2bn, driving IR activities to reshape the shareholder base and maintain relations between SES and the global financial community as the business continues to evolve in a dynamic and growing industry.
